For the Leader Who Feels Afraid

Feeling afraid? Pause and settle in with me for a few minutes. Take a deep breath. I see you.

A Prayer For the Leader Who Feels Afraid

God, I need You. Fear is trying to get the best of me. But I know You have already equipped me for this moment. In uncertainty, I find peace in Your presence. When fear tries to overwhelm me, remind me of the strength You’ve placed within me. Help me live with wisdom. Help me be brave and full of courage. Let faith steady my anxious heart. I am never alone, even in the shadows. You have prepared me for this very moment. Fear has no power. You called me. You chose me. I belong to You. The One who holds the oceans in His hand. Help me move forward, one step at a time, one breath at a time, confident in Your goodness and grace. In Jesus name. Amen.

Truth to Remember

  • “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am you God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NLT

  • “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—whom should I dread?” Psalm 27:1 CSB

  • “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 NIV

Questions to Consider

  1. What is fear trying to convince you of?

  2. Where have you seen God’s faithfulness in similar situations in your life?

  3. What would one brave step look like in this situation today, even if fear is present?

Practical Steps You Can Take

  1. Name the fear. Be honest and specific. We cannot address what we refuse to acknowledge.

  2. Speak the truth. Look for evidence in God’s Word to combat the fear. When you find it, write it down and say it out loud.

  3. Take action. Do something, anything. Don’t wait for the fear to go away. Take one small step toward the thing that’s making you afraid, and do it today. PS: Working through these three steps counts!
